Lunar New Year is one of the biggest international holidays with over two billion people across the globe celebrating new beginnings. Although the holiday is commonly known as Chinese New Year, Lunar New Year is celebrated by various Asian countries, regions, and cultures with different traditions and customs. Chinese New Year, Spring Festival, or the Lunar New Year, is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. Paint your own lantern to be displayed in celebration of the Lunar New Year!

To celebrate the Lunar New Year let us get crafty! Bring the kids out to the Boynton Beach Mall, 801 North Congress Avenue, Boynton Beach for the KidX Club Art-in-the-Air Lantern Painting event in celebration of the Lunar New Year between JCPenney and the Children's Play Area on Saturday, January 29, 2022, between 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Kids can choose from a variety of stencils or paint their own designs onto a lantern! When the lanterns are finished drying, they will be hung in the Food Court of the Boynton Beach Mall throughout February to celebrate the Year of the Tiger.

This event is free to attend and will continue while supplies last. You are strongly encouraged ou to reserve a spot. Parents will be contacted at the end of February to pick up their child's lantern. To register your children for the Art-in-the-Air Lantern Painting please register here.
