Keep the Jupiter Beaches Clean

Please join this month’s Friends of Jupiter Beach Cleanup on Saturday, March 5, 2022, beginning at 8:00 am – 10:00 am. The March beach cleanup is sponsored by Florida, Power, and Light. We clean a two and ½ mile stretch from the Juno Beach Pier to the southern edge of Carlin Park crossovers 22-59. Head on over to Jupiter beach this Saturday morning and join the Friends of Jupiter Beach as they help clean up the area coastline.  Friends of Jupiter Beach is a nonprofit 501(c)3 whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally health, clean and dog-friendly beaches in Jupiter.

The danger of shutting down access to local dogs in 1994 assembled a modest group of worried residents. These conscientious citizens quickly began coordinating volunteer beach cleanups and providing dog waste bags at beach crossovers. Since then, the group has expanded, with people and organizations joining the effort which repeatedly demonstrated care for the marine environment as well as the privilege of taking our furry friends to one of the last dog beaches in the area. Please help keep the beach clean!

Communally, over time, the Friends of Jupiter Beach has collected:

-         12 – monthly beach cleanups drawing an average of two hundred volunteers per month

-         29 – dog bag boxes along a 2 1/2 mile stretch of beach, refilled continuously

-        490 – the average number of pounds of garbage removed from the beach at each monthly cleanup

-      5,000 – friends, members, and sponsors

-  400,000 – sanitary dog bags dispensed for FREE usage by beach visitors

Volunteers are invited to return before 9:30 am and enjoy a variety of breakfast foods, drinks, old and new friends. There will be FREE PRIZES! Beach cleanups will be canceled in rain or dangerous weather. Any cancellation notices will be posted on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FriendsofJupiterBeach. Gloves and buckets will be provided. Please wear sunscreen and bring your own water. See you there!
