For months now, anyone who has driven by Carlin Park here in Jupiter has seen the sign saying "Oceanfront Restaurant Coming Soon". For twenty-five years, the Lazy Loggerhead Cafe occupied the big blue building on the hill, serving up breakfast and lunch fare. But for about a year now, that space has sat unoccupied. We now know that the new occupant will be the fourth location for Dune Dog Cafe!
According to the Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners website, they "approved a concessionaire lease agreement with Dune Dog Acquisitions Inc. for Carlin Park in Jupiter" on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023.
Dune Dog Cafe has been a Jupiter staple on Alt A1A since 1994, with newer locations in Stuart and Cocoa Beach. Dune Dog is renowned for its laid-back atmosphere and fair prices, perfect for casual dining, and making it a great choice for the beachfront location in Carlin Park. When it comes to the menu, Dune Dog Cafe offers a variety of options.
In addition to offering fantastic burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and yes, hotdogs, Dune Dog is famous for its incredible daily specials. On Mondays, the Jupiter location has an "All you can eat baby back ribs" deal for $22.99. Tuesdays feature a "Two-For-Tuesday" offer, where you can get two complete dinners for a single low price of $24.99. They have a special for kids on Wednesdays and a terrific Lobster Dinner deal on Thursdays.
Jupiter has seen its fair share of investment and development over the past few years, and it is quickly becoming one of the best beach towns not only in the state of Florida, but likely the entire country. With places like Carlin Park, Jupiter Beach Park, Burt Reynolds Park, Jupiter Dog Beach, and Dubois Park, this is one of the most public-friendly oases you can find. Ample parking everywhere, tons to do, and a spot for everyone. From the restaurants of Love Street to the shops of Harbourside, and now the renewed ability to grab a bite by the ocean, Jupiter exudes beach-town charm.
Dune Dog is set to begin renovations on the building in about a month, but there is currently no projected opening date. One thing is for sure, though: people are excited for it!
