Biking the Lake Trail Through Palm Beach | Waterfront Properties

The Lake Trail is a 5.5-mile path running north to south along the barrier island of Palm Beach. The scenic town is known for its upscale estates, tall palm trees, blue ocean views and beautiful landscaping- which all make the Lake Trail an excellent route to endeavor. Along the way, bikers will pass 18 eye-catching sites including the West Palm Beach skyline, Society of the Four Arts, The Breakers and historic Kennedy bunker on Peanut Island.

The towering age-old coconut palms on the island create a nice shady path (particularly in the morning) for riders to get a glimpse of exclusive high-end backyards of impressive estates. Sites like the Estee Lauder Mansion and Flagler Museum are an incredible display of Gilded Age architecture and history in the town. With so many things to see, the 5-mile trail feels like a breeze, especially with the help of a cool zephyr coming off the ocean.

The trail is wide and paved with a cement allowing bikers a smooth, traffic-free ride. There's a water fountain at the northernmost point but it's a good idea to bring a water bottle. Visitors can rent bikes from the Palm Beach Bicycle Trail Shop, which also provides a clear map of the trail and lists points of interest.
