The West Palm Beach GreenMarket was voted the number 1 farmers market in the country by voters in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice awards. The last GreenMarket of the season is April 16, 2022. If you have not explored the best market in the United States, there is a limited time before is shut down for summer. The West Palm Beach GreenMarket began in 1995 with only thirteen vendors. Mayor Nancy Graham was inspired to re-create the culture of public markets in Europe. According to the city, Graham is quoted as saying, “In the green markets I visited, people selling the produce knew their shoppers’ names and the shoppers could ask questions about the products.

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket beat out hot spots like Seattle, Washington; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Santa Monica, California. The green market is open Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. between October and April. It is located on the Great Lawn at the West Palm Beach waterfront at 100 North Clematis Street.

Enjoy bottomless mimosas and live music in the shade of the banyan tree on North Clematis Street or relax on the open lawn. Examine the bounty of fresh fruits, vegetables, artisan cheeses, jelly, and jams, not to mention the abundance of orchids to choose from. People watching is fun Martha Stewart and Dr. Oz have been spotted shopping at the market.

Admission is FREE. Free parking is available at the Evernia and City Center garages, or for $5 at the Banyan garage, or arrive by boat using the city’s free public docks.
