The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival’s annual Shakespeare By The Sea has been an annual festival in the Palm Beaches for more than 29 years. This year, the festival is still going on, but it will be a little different. The festival will be going virtual in 2020.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival and to celebrate 30 years, the production this year will be “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.  The festival is currently going on now starting Friday, August 21st through Labor Day weekend, the first weekend in September. The festival is free, and the performances are available to watch and stream through the theater company’s website.

The production was filmed in July with the proper social distancing by the cast and production crew. Through the programs available, viewers have access to the performances, a Shakespeare study for all ages, supplemental videos from the festival’s artistic director, and much more.

Every year more than 9,000 guest attend the Shakespeare By The Sea Festival. This year, the festival is expected to bring in more viewers and attendees than ever. All are invited to this year’s virtual festival.
