Jonathan Dickinson State Park is located at 16450 S.E. Federal Highway, Hobe Sound within Martin County.  The state park offers many activities and opportunities for outdoor adventure! Visitors can enjoy paved and off-road biking, equestrian, and hiking trails. The Jupiter Waterway Trail is a series of trails that connect the Loxahatchee River, Intracoastal Waterway and Jupiter Inlet. These off-shoots of water create a great opportunity for eco-tourism activities including boating, canoeing, and kayaking.

The history of the park come to life through exhibits and displays in the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center. Did you know that before WWII in the late 1930s, the land where the Jonathan Dickinson preserve is, was an Army training facility called "Camp Murphy.”? The 11,000-acre camp taught soldiers how to repair and operate military radars. It accommodated nearly 900 officers and 6,000 enlisted men and incorporated nearly 1,000 buildings including a bank, movie theater, church, and bowling alley. The base only operated for around 2 years, but the tens of thousands of men who passed through resulted in a 100% increase in the population of Martin County. Today, only one Camp Murphy building remains in Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

Effective July 1, 2021: The Kimbell Education Center at Jonathan Dickinson State Park is open Friday - Monday, 9am - 5pm.
