Students Can Participate In Film Contest To Win Scholarship

In addition, the many events held weekly, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting a Student Film Contest this January. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center has partnered with the 2021 Suzanne L. Niedland Documentary Scholarship Award, for the annual Student Showcase of Films produced by the Palm Beach Film and Television Commission every year.

The documentary film contest aims to showcase the importance of water in Florida’s communities and natural areas. Students in High School and College participating must create original video content to capture their film and storytelling skills. Topics can include conservation challenges, lifestyle changes, conservation initiatives, water and ecosystems, and more. Videos must be five to 25 minutes in length and must include a plot, acting and characters, special effects, a theme, editing, lighting, production design, and sound.

The deadline to submit the video is Monday, January 25th. The winning student will receive a $1,000 cash reward. In addition to the cash reward, Students will receive a Loggerhead Marinelife Center turtle adoption, will be featured on their social media channels and newsletters, and more.
