The Mall at Wellington Green reopens today, with new measures in place to protect shoppers and employees from the coronavirus.

The mall will have reduced hours and will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Wellington Green announced on its website.

Face coverings are not required to enter the mall, but they are recommended, the mall’s website said. Some stores do require face coverings.

All parking lots are open, and Wellington Green suggests parking six feet from other vehicles for continued social distancing. The mall recommends determining which store or restaurant you want to visit, and then checking the mall’s map to see which entrance and parking would be the closest.

Sanitation and security

All entrances and exits will be open, with information about health and safety guidelines posted near each one. There also will be hand sanitizer stations available near entrances, bathrooms, and the food court.

Shoppers are asked to maintain a six-foot separation from others, with signage in the food court to make sure people keep their distance.

The mall also reminded people to cover their nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, then throw the tissue away and wash your hands.

Stay home if you’re not feeling well, the mall said.

The janitorial team will wear gloves and masks when needed. The team is following CDC guidelines, and shoppers can expect to see them frequently wiping down public spaces, including the mall entrances, food court tables, chairs, counters, bathrooms, trash cans and drinking fountains, the mall said.

Security will be on-site to provide help.

Stores and services

Retailers’ reopening schedules will vary, the mall said. People should call or check a store’s website for information before coming to the mall. Each store may have different guidelines for face coverings and how many people can be in the store at one time.

When a store is at capacity, social distancing markers will be placed outside the entrance for people to wait.

Curbside Pickup

Stores and restaurants each have been assigned a color-coded pick-up area around the mall.

When it’s time to pick up an order, the store or restaurant will let you know which location to use and which phone number you should call when you arrive, the mall said.

After getting to the mall, stay in your vehicle and call the store’s phone number. An employee will bring your order to your car.
