Most seasons change and its very evident, however in Palm Beach County the seasons are a continuous sunny, warm, tropical climate.  So, when spring comes along residents need a friendly reminder that its “spring cleaning time”!  Now is the time to get some of those spring cleaning projects that you have been putting off completed. When organizing your closet, here are some tips for getting the most out of your space.

When cleaning your closet get rid of old shoes. Folks tend to hoard shoes more than other types of clothing. In coastal towns like, Jupiter, flip flops are the footwear of choice. If you are looking to organize your closet, go through your shoe collection and be honest with yourself about what you should keep, what you should donate, and what you should throw away.

In this area we have swimsuits out year around.  Occasionally a cold snap will breeze through and a sweater is required. Pack away the seasonal clothing after winter passes, many people throw their giant sweaters, boots, and heavy pants back into the closet.  It is a silly waste of space.  Purchase storage containers you can vacuum out the air and compress the winter bulk.  Slide the bins under the bed.

Add another row to your closet. A lot of closets do not facilitate the space up to the ceiling.  You can only efficiently stack clothes so high in that empty space until it becomes ridiculous. That is why, after a certain point, it becomes better to add another row and create more storage space in your closet.
