Starting this week, officials hope there will be at least two new government-run coronavirus testing sites in Palm Beach County — including the first north of West Palm Beach.

The two walk-up testing sites are expected to be at the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics at 1150 45th Street in West Palm Beach and at 411 West Indiantown Road in Jupiter, officials said Monday.

Both clinics are part of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, which also runs testing sites at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches and in Lantana and north of Belle Glade.

Nonprofit Cleveland Clinic Florida, the Florida National Guard and the Florida Division of Emergency Management recently opened a drive-thru COVID-19 testing at South County Civic Center, 16700 Jog Road, near Delray Beach.

The two locations will likely operate on alternating days to conserve staff, Davis said. She expects both clinics to handle up to 150 tests per day.

Palm Beach County also plans to open a testing site at the Wells Recreation Community Center at 2409 Avenue H West in Riviera Beach, said Commissioner Mack Bernard, whose district includes Riviera Beach.

The opening date for the Riviera Beach testing location is still being determined, Bernard said.

Even while announcing measures to re-open some public spaces in Palm Beach County, County Mayor Dave Kerner said there still is a need for increased testing.

“All of those (testing) options need to ramp up even further for us to start down a pathway to normalcy,” he said.
