If you love a pretzel, then National Pretzel Day April 26 is the day for you. The Malted Barley, 14121 U.S. Highway One in Juno Beach is all about craft beer and craft food. They offer the best craft beers, and all the food is made from scratch by hand and baked-to-order. Their pretzel dough is made fresh daily, and every pretzel is rolled and stuffed by hand.  The pretzels are baked to order - salty and crunchy on the outside, soft, and chewy on the inside, and paired with a house-made dipping sauces.

A little National Pretzel Day history — with a twist! Pretzels, somewhat surprisingly, got their start in the Catholic Church. Sometime around the 7th Century A.D., monks presented their students with treats of baked dough twisted in the shape of crossed arms. At the time, crossing one’s arms was the traditional posture for prayer. Not only that, but pretzels, made from water, flour and salt, were also the perfect food for Lent — when meat, dairy and eggs were prohibited.
