Events This Week At The Loggerhead Marinelife Center

With visitors still in town for the holidays, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their popular events this week to end the year. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is dedicated to helping protect the ocean, marine life and injured and endangered sea turtles through their rehabilitation center and research programs.

Public Guided Tours

Public Guided Tours are offered twice a day at 12 pm and then again at 2 pm. Those who attend will get an up-close look at the outdoor sea turtle hospital and get to see the sea turtles housed at the center. The cost is $10 dollars for adults and $5 dollars for children under 8 years old. All are welcomed to attend. The tour lasts approximately an hour and registration is required prior to the tour to reserve your space.

Turtle Talk

Turtle Talk is offered every Wednesday morning at 10:30 am and is an educational lecture that covers the basics of sea turtles and sea turtle conservation. The Turtle Talk educates visitors about sea turtle biology, ecology, conservation, and the center’s rescue and release protocol. The cost is free to attend and registration is required due to limited space.

ArtSea Kids Paint Class

ArtSea Kids Paint Class is offered every Thursday morning at 10:30 am. During the paint class, kids will paint their own ceramic ocean friend that they will be able to bring home with them. There will also be a story time with an ocean conservation theme. The class costs $10 dollars per painter. Registration is required due to limited space.
