Stuart is a Fishing Hotspot and More!

Stuart was named to the 2021 "Best Winter Fishing Destinations" nationwide, according to the blog FishingBooker. The FishingBooker touted Stuart's sailfish fishing reputation, saying people from all over the country should flock to the city during the winter season to test their fishing skills.  It was the only Florida city to make the list. FishingBooker is an online marketplace for booking yacht charters for recreational fishing.

The reason the City of Stuart is unique to other places on the Atlantic coast is that the Gulf Stream is very close to shore.  It can be reached within 10 miles. For anglers, that means that you have a chance of reeling in a Sailfish on a four- or five-hour fishing trip! In addition to Sailfish, you can also pursue Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Redfish, Kingfish, and Barracuda during the winter months.

Stuart has other compliments in addition to being the “Sailfish Capital of the World”.  It was named “America’s Happiest Seaside Town” by Coastal Living in 2016.  It also ranked No. 6 among “60 charming American towns you haven’t heard of but should visit ASAP,” by Oprah Magazine.

If that is not enough to get you to consider Stuart as a great place to live or visit, it was a runner-up in the Smithsonian Magazine’s 2015 “Best Small Towns to Visit."
