One of the biggest benefits of living in sunny, Palm Beach County is its natural habitat. We have everything from soft sandy beaches with dunes, to scrub pine forests, to marshes, wide open ocean and estuaries, just to name a few. And with this vast expanse of habitats all in one small spot on the world, the wildlife you can see here is some of the best.

You can take your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews out for a day with animals in Jupiter. For those kids out there, that can’t get enough of the marine life we have native to Florida, here are 3 activities you have got to try!

Sea Turtle Sleepover

The sea turtle sleepover event at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a favorite among kids. It's an exclusive nighttime program that offers a tour of the facility's Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, activities for your aspiring scientist, movie time, snacks and pizza, and concludes with a little shuteye amongst our aquariums! You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages but request that all beverages be in reusable containers.

Mangroves and Manatees Tour

Venture into a different realm of Jupiter’s marine environment by exploring the mangrove islands throughout the Loxahatchee River with a Mangroves and Manatees Tour offered by the Jupiter Outdoor Center. Kids can use a one-person, two-person kayak or a stand-up paddleboard for this adventure. Led by the educated and experienced staff at the Jupiter Outdoor Center, these tours take you through the most beautiful mangrove islands where you will meet manatees, fish, turtles, birds and maybe even a dolphin. This tour is a must try activity for youngsters or adults. Experience the true beauty of Jupiter’s waterways with a Manatees and Mangroves Tour.

Times subject to change according to time of year. See The Jupiter Outdoor Center’s event calendar for upcoming dates and times: http://www.jupiteroutdoorcenter.com/joc-calendar-of-events/

Fish Feeding at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center offers a great, public event that is perfect for those kids who want to learn without getting too caught up in full research mode. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, you can bring your kids by for a glimpse under sea. Kids watch as the staff feed the fish in the “coastal ecosystems” exhibit and explain the feeding habits, living conditions and life cycles of the fish and animals that live here. It is the perfect way for kids to have a look at what goes on below the surface and to gain new perspective on what life is like under water below your paddleboard! Kids will get to see everything from anemones and corals to fish, shrimp, eels and more.

Fish Feeding at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sat at 3:00 p.m.
