County Commissioners met last week to discuss reopening Martin County and the steps to take. The meeting was held Friday morning at The Blake Library in downtown Stuart.

Starting today, Monday, May 4th, Martin County is reopening golf courses, boat ramps, parks and beaches, however Hobe Sound Beach will remain closed due to its close proximity to Palm Beach County where the beaches remain closed.  Bathtub Beach will also remain closed in Martin County.

In addition to all county parks, private and public golf courses and boat ramps opening racquet sports will be allowed at parks, pavilions will reopen but playgrounds will remain closed.  Boat ramps will be open for commercial or recreational use.

Anyone at those locations must abide by social distancing practices and the CDC guidelines set in place.

Phase One of Reopening Martin County will also go into effect today and restaurants and retail shops can reopen with 25% capacity. Restaurants can do outdoor seating with social distancing and some limited indoor seating.  Gyms, movie theaters, hair and nail salons and large venues are closed until further notice.
