Two Sea Turtles Being Released This Week

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is preparing for a Double Sea Turtle Release this week. On Thursday, March 12th, the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center is planning on releasing two healthy sea turtle back into the ocean. The sea turtles planning on being released are Turbo and Herme. Herme is a subadult loggerhead sea turtle that was found at the FPL St. Lucie site in November 2019. Herme was underweight and in poor health when found and after being transmitted to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center for fluids and antibiotics, Herme is ready to be released back into the ocean this week. Turbo was found in December 2019 and is a juvenile loggerhead sea turtle that was found unintentionally hooked at the Juno Beach Pier. The hook was in the turtle’s mouth and Turbo was underweight and had intestinal issues. After treatment and antibiotics, Turbo is also ready to be released back into the ocean this Thursday.
