The sustenance of food extends far beyond a meal. Reggae Roots is located at 4370 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. This restaurant is the “brainchild of kingdom minded godly business leaders who have birthed this restaurant to not only feed those seeking savory sensations from the island but to be an instrument of philanthropy”. The Broward County location is important as they wanted to give the public a new way of appreciating authentic Jamaican fare.

Monique Clarke Brown (a lawyer), along with husband Alexis Brown (an entrepreneur, event planner and chef) opened this restaurant, to show their love of her home country, Jamaica.  Jamaica is known for its culture and food. Reggae Roots opened in May 2022.  Brown says. “To start, a new geographical location in South Florida; our customers have been so elated and warmly welcomed us as they have been longing for our cuisine without the long drive.” The most popular dishes are oxtail, jerk chicken, curried goat, and pineapple barbecue chicken.

This restaurant was founded to also feed the homeless and hungry that struggle to afford a proper meal. There will be a feeding pantry and arrange partnership with feeding programs and charities to provide for those in daily need. If you would like to be a part of the philanthropic efforts, please email: [email protected].

Prices range from $3 to $28. The eatery interior seats 10 people and the outside lounge seats an additional eight. For more information about Reggae Roots please call 754-f701-8407 or visit ReggaeRootsJA.com.
