Over the weekend, Downtown Delray Beach and the city’s Downtown Development Authority transformed Old School Square into a pop-up dining area. The new outdoor dining area is called “Distanced Dining in the Park”.
The new pop-up area allows people to take out from local downtown Delray Beach restaurants and head to Old School Square for outdoor dining. People can pick up their food and drinks and safety eat in a socially distanced and open-air area.
The open-air dining area is equipped with hand washing stations and hand sanitizer stations and is filled with outdoor music and lighting. The area can and tables set up, can seat up to 80 people.
The dining area has been a success over the past weekend that downtown Delray Beach has decided to continue the pop-up dining until next Saturday, September 5th. Starting today, the dining area will be open from 5 pm to 9 pm daily.
