With the school year coming to an end, Palm Beach County is filled with fun, family friendly activities to do to stay busy this summer. Lion Country Safari is one of Palm Beach County’s Top Attractions and is one of the only drive-through and walk-through safari’s and amusement parks. 

Lion Country Safari is located in western Palm Beach County and is situated on more than 600 acres of land with over 1000 animals from six continents throughout the safari’s seven sections. Some notable animals roaming around include lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, zebras, white rhinos, and much more. The safari includes 4-miles of pathways throughout the safari to drive-through and see the animals. 

Lion Country Safari was founded in 1967 and notes that it was the first cage-less zoo in the United States. The safari has won numerous awards and numerous recognitions since it opened to the public. Some of the awards include “Best Outdoor Activity in Palm Beach County”, “Top Local Attraction”, “One of the Top Ten Drive-Through Safari’s”, and “One of the Best Safari’s”. 

Tickets are required to enter the park and can be purchased online or at the gate. The drive-through safari is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, last car admitted into the park at 4:30 pm.
