Wellington Celebrates 25 Years

The Village of Wellington just celebrated a milestone birthday over the holiday weekend. The village was incorporated on December 31st, 1995 and this year marked its 25th anniversary.

Festivities occurred over the weekend at Green Park and the village leaders did everything they could to ensure everyone’s health and safety. Visitors remained in their cars for a socially distant firework display to help celebrate the village’s 25th anniversary and to help ring in the New Year.

Wellington, is a village located west of West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County is known to many for its beautiful parks, inviting neighborhoods, great schools, and all things equestrian. Wellington is Palm Beach County’s fifth largest municipality by population.

Wellington is known as the Equestrian Capital of the World and the most popular destination for the equestrian lifestyle. Wellington is home to the Palm Beach International Polo Club and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, and the Polo season and Winter Equestrian Festival is celebrated every year starting in January.

Every winter, Polo lovers travel to Wellington to enjoy the well-equipped facilities and their love of the sport. The Polo matches are opened to the public and include everything from field-side seating, elegant brunches, grandstand viewings, exclusive boxes, field tailgating, and more.

In addition, Wellington has been ranked among Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live in the United States” for the last several years.  Wellington offers some of the top schools, a low crime rate, is located less than 15 miles to the beach, within a short driving distance to the airport, and has some of the best hospitals in the area.
