Hope Capital has hired and promoted a range of staff across its sales, underwriting and portfolio management departments to cope with increased business.

In its sales team, the specialist bridging lender has promoted Kim Parker to sales team manager, which will see her lead the division. She was previously a business development executive.

Also, David Weir has been promoted to become business development manager for the North and Scotland. Jack Gardner becomes a senior business development executive, while Callum Goulden and Michael Trafford take up posts as business development executives.

In the underwriting department, Jon Reed has been promoted to senior credit manager, where he will manage risk and ensure loans are properly structured before completion.

Also, Cheryl Smyth joins the underwriting team, bringing over 15 years of experience in the finance industry and will manage loan applications. She previously worked for three years at Barclays, where she was a senior customer mortgage expert.

Finally, Mayo-Yemi Onafowokan and Sarah Matthews join the lender’s portfolio management department, where they will ensure loans by borrowers are redeemed on time as well as providing client support.

The business says the appointments come after the first half of the year “was its most successful period to date”. Its headcount has jumped by 40% since the same period a year ago.

Hope Capital chief executive Jonathan Sealey adds: “Every single one of these promotions is hugely deserved and reflects the dedication and skills each person has.”
