The Samoset Resort in Rockport hosts its 10th Annual Glacier Ice Bar event on January 13-15, 2022, and the following weekend on January 20-21, 2022. The theme this year is “Arctic Wild,” transporting guests to Alaska’s tundra with picturesque backdrops and a life-size dog sled alongside 50,000 pounds of carved ice sculptures. Dress warmly for the true Arctic experience overlooking the icy Midcoast Maine ocean, though there will be plenty of hot “mocktail” drinks to keep your hands warm and head clear, including “Grandma’s” Godiva hot chocolate with a candy cane and whipped cream, and the “Saint Bernard” hot apple cider with hints of orange, cinnamon, and apple crumble. The Glacier Ice Bar will be offering shots from its ice luge, served in a special ice glass, including “Winter Solstice,” with Titos Vodka, clementine, and triple sec, and “The Polar Bear,” with white creme de cocoa and peppermint schnapps. And of course, tasty food from soups to mini burgers and a charcuterie board will be available to order as well. Arctic-inspired specialty cocktails from the menu include: Snow Ball Martini: Titos Vodka, Vanilla Liqueur, White Cream De Cacao, Toasted Marshmallow Snow Shoe: Titos Vodka, St. Germaine, Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice, Limoncello, Cranberry Juice Nor’easter: Jim Beam Bourbon, Sparkling Apple Cider, Maine Maple Syrup Drizzle Warm Baked Apple: Titos Vodka, Goldschlager, Hot Apple Cider, Baked Apple Crumble Blizzard: Bacardi Rum, Frangelico, Baileys, Fresh Brewed Coffee and Whipped Crème The Avalanche: Blend of White Chocolate, Vanilla, Kahlua, and Warm Milk.
