South Florida residents like to live a healthy lifestyle. Maybe it’s because of our year-round beach weather? Regardless, there are many ways to stay fit in the Palm Beaches outside of the gym. Here are a few of our favorites.

Jogging

If you are into running or jogging, or just want to get a scenic walk in to start the day, there’s no better place than The Palm Beaches. Watching the sun come up by the Juno Pier as your run takes you along Ocean Drive in Jupiter is truly breathtaking. On Saturday morning, this run has three water stops set up all the way to the Jupiter Inlet. Another great place to run is along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach.

Meditating

Meditation is about enjoying the present moment, and when traveling it’s great to get out and find a spot to just sit and absorb the new-to-you environment. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a daily practitioner, sitting and seeing someplace new really helps instill the whole experience in your mind. There are many great places for meditating around the Palm Beaches, we suggest checking out Lyman Kayak Park and Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

Scuba

A combination of exploration and relaxation, scuba diving is a great way to take in a different kind of landscape for all ages. Beginners will enjoy testing out their snorkeling skills, fish identification and comfort in the water at Phil Foster Park along the snorkel trail. Known worldwide for the diversity of marine life there, it’s also easily accessible from a lifeguarded beach with rentals available from the various dive shops and outdoor centers nearby. Swim between a variety of artificial structures where angelfish, coral crab and baby lobster take sanctuary.
