Brilliant Solutions Mortgage Club has set up a charity poker event in order to raise money for the NHS through its Charities Together scheme.

Using a free app to play, participants will be asked to donate £20 – although the club says that more or less cash acceptable – and to register for the tournament, the first round of which takes place in the first week of May, by the end of this month.

Brilliant Solutions stresses that the event will involve no bank details or gambling of any money.

Anybody “remotely associated” with the mortgage industry can join in, it adds. The winner will receive a trophy.

Brilliant Solutions managing director Matthew Arena says: “We are pleased to be able to help bring the industry together to have some fun whilst raising money for the NHS.

“It really is easy for everybody to participate. Whilst we may be considered key workers under the government’s definition, it feels only right that we do something to support those on the front line of this crisis.”

Sales director Michael Craig adds: “A significant amount of work has gone into this so to see so many people getting involved is brilliant.

“We really have tried to make this accessible and fun, whilst keeping our eye on the main point here and that is raising money.”
