Broker queries about small product transfers and how to advertise their services were among the most popular discussion threads on an online industry forum.
The forum Cherry, which was visited by more than 35,000 financial services professionals last year, said product transfers were one of the most popular mortgage topics discussed, particularly for small loan sizes.
The broker who started the thread wanted to know whether others would treat a product transfer for a £20,000 loan the same way as they would for a much larger remortgage.
Other popular topics includes a thread on Google’ pay-per-click advertising, where brokers discussed what would a suitable conversion rate would be from a particular number of clicks and impressions.
It garnered a number of positive responses and advice from fellow brokers, including keyword strategy, how to measure ‘success’, and in what ways one’s own website could be improved to make the most of traffic delivered by Google ads and keywords.
Cherry director Donna Hopton says that the forum is seeing year-on-year growth in activity highlights its usefulness to the financial services community, with many seeking information, advice and support from peers in the mortgage industry.
