Melton Building Society has partnered with property services firm Vibrant to offer free energy performance certificate-plus surveys on all of the mutual’s mortgage completions.
The lender says the deal covers residential, buy-to-let, further borrowing and product transfer loans.
It adds that the bespoke report provides homeowners with the current energy efficiency rating of their home, as well as a potential energy performance certificate rating with a free quotation on how to achieve it.
Melton Building Society head of product Jamie Hyland says: “Home energy efficiency continues to be a challenge across the property market, including for both homeowners and for landlords.
“We are aware of our responsibility as a lender to support borrowers, particularly as the government continue to define future expectations of minimum property requirements.
He points out: “This report will give the customer access to a host of information about their property, including how they can make improvements and giving access to registered, independent tradespeople to carry out the improvements.
“We believe this is an important step in working towards a more efficient property market, whilst also saving customers money at a time of increasing costs.”
