This Summer, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is excited to bring back their popular Sea Turtle Walks event to their calendar. On Tuesday through Saturday evenings, beginning June 1st, the center is inviting guests to join in on their Guided Sea Turtle Walks.
The center has gotten approval from the state to bring guests down to the beach and witness, observe, and learn about sea turtle nesting and the egg-laying process of sea turtles. Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins March 1st through October 31st and the beaches of Jupiter and Juno Beach are a popular nesting spot for sea turtles. The center monitors the beaches daily for new nests.
The event begins with a quick tutorial of the nesting process and an after-hours tour of the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center. During this time, staff members will be monitoring the beaches to find turtles, once a turtle is found, guests will be guided down to the beach to witness the process.
The Sea Turtle Walks are every Tuesday through Saturday during June and July beginning at 9 pm. The cost is $22 dollars per person or $20 dollars for Loggerhead Marinelife Center Members.
