Halifax Intermediaries is cutting rates across its range of five-year fixed rate remortgage deals by as much as 49 basis points.

The lender is introducing the new rates on Monday.

Reductions include:

• Fee-free five-year fix up to 60 per cent loan-to-value, currently 3.69 per cent, to reduce by 0.34 percentage points
• Fee-free five-year fix up to 75 per cent LTV, currently 3.69 per cent, to reduce by 0.29 percentage points
• Fee-free five-year fix up to 80 per cent LTV, currently 3.74 per cent, to reduce by 0.29 percentage points
• Fee-free five-year fix up to 85 per cent LTV, currently 3.99 per cent, to reduce by 0.49 percentage points

Halifax is also extending the end and completion dates by three months across its remortgage, home mover and first-time buyer deals, including for shared equity and shared ownership.
