Gatehouse Bank has launched a decision-in-principle hub on its website.

The Shariah-compliant bank says the portal is open to UK residents and has been developed to streamline applications.

It adds that the move allows UK home purchase and buy-to-let customers to independently get a decision in principle “around the clock, at a time convenient to them”.

The bank says the hub allows qualifying customers to obtain a decision in principle in around 10 minutes.

Customers will then be prompted to upload supporting documents through a secure platform, and will also receive immediate access to documents that can be provided to estate agents when viewing and offering on properties.

Gatehouse Bank head of direct home finance Gemma Donnelly says: “We pride ourselves on our customer-first approach and have designed our online decision-in-principle facility with the customer journey at the front of our minds.

“Initially piloted in December, we have been delighted by the positive feedback our virtual decision in principle tool has received so far and look forward to continuing to provide our customers with the most efficient and accessible support to help them purchase a property.”
