A tea affair is an opportunity for women to engage in a healthy event It is a homage to tiaras and dresses affair fit for a queen. There are many ideas about tea etiquette and the when and how tea was first made popular in England. The tea party is designed to capture the essence of togetherness and women celebrating each other, dressing up, and having an enjoyable time in an intentional way. The tea affair takes place Saturday, June 25, 2022, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm at the Victoria Grove Clubhouse located at 10420 Victoria Groves Boulevard in Royal Palm Beach.

The history of tea spreads across multiple cultures over the span of thousands of years. The earliest tea drinking is dated back to China's Shang dynasty, in which tea was consumed as a medicinal drink. Drinking tea became popular in Britain during the 17th century. Coffeehouses were popular in the 18th century. Women were forbidden to enter them. In England, the royal woman invited her friends into her bedroom chamber to share tea with her. “Tea was generally consumed within a lady’s closet or bedchamber and for a mainly female gathering. The tea itself and the delicate pieces of porcelain for brewing and drinking it were displayed in the closet, and inventories for wealthy households during the 17th and 18th centuries list tea equipage not in kitchens or dining rooms but in these small private closets or boudoirs.” During the 18th-century tea gardens became popular.

The drinking of tea in the United States was largely influenced by the passage of the Tea Act and its subsequent protest during the American Revolution. Tea consumption sharply decreased in the United States during and after the Revolution. Many Americans switched from drinking tea to drinking coffee, considering tea drinking to be unpatriotic.

The objective of the Social Tea is to get acquainted, have an enjoyable afternoon, and experience the setting of The Ladies Tea together. For this Ladies Tea, it is important to make sure that everyone is introduced to one another in the beginning– it helps to include a few women who are outgoing and a little more talkative to help get things started. This tea is best known for spontaneous networking.

Additionally, tea, especially green tea, is often said to be good for your health. Tea contains substances linked to a lower risk for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. The main health-promoting substances in tea are polyphenols, catechins, and antioxidant properties.
