Saffron Building Society has created a new brokerage service, Saffron Mortgage Finders.

It will work as an appointed representative of Openwork, which will take care of the panel, in which 50 lenders will be included, systems support and regulatory approval.

Although telephone-based Saffron says that face-to-face meetings will be possible in one of the lender’s branch or at a potential borrower’s workplace.

The lender first hinted at a new launch at the end of March this year, when it promised a “revolutionary” direct-to-customer service.

Saffron Mortgage Finders director Colin Field says: “We already work very closely with our network of intermediaries, who are essential partners in helping the majority of our customers benefit from our innovative mortgage products.

“The Saffron Mortgage Finders service will allow us to reach even more consumers, helping them to find a house to call theirs and the protection to ensure they can remain in it too.”
