Hampshire Trust Bank has promoted Mark Newman to business development manager for East Anglia in its specialist mortgages division.

Newman will be responsible for developing broker relationships and promoting the specialist bank’s proposition in the region.

He will also ensure that professional investors and landlords are supported through the lender’s loan process.

The business offers these borrowers specialist residential loans of up to £25m for limited companies, offshore entities, expats and foreign nationals, as well as mixed-use portfolios and semi-commercial properties.

Newman reports to the bank’s sales director for specialist mortgages Andrea Glasgow.

He has been promoted from lending manager for the South West, a role he took up at the start of the year.

Newman joined the lender in 2022 as a lending assessor for new business, with responsibility for case packaging prior to underwriting, as well as supporting brokers with updates and case queries.

Glasgow says: “As we approach 2024, Hampshire Trust Bank has an insatiable appetite to support all types of landlords, from both first-time ones and professional investors.

“We will continue to strengthen and refine our product and service propositions to achieve this, and I know that Mark brings the right attitude, skills and experience to support this.”

Newman adds: “Having worked hard to gain two promotions since joining Hampshire Trust Bank, and having built strong relationships both internally and externally, I am excited to help support our broker partners.”
