From today, Barclays will be limiting the number of mortgage application requests it can process each day.

The lender says that once the daily limit has been reached, a message will inform the broker that they can no longer submit.

However, brokers will be able to populate the application they have been working on and save its details for a future attempt.

Barclays says that this is a temporary measure “so that we can balance our mortgage processing capacity with maintaining a consistent service for you and your clients.”
