Vida Homeloans has hired John Truswell as head of intermediary distribution as the specialist lender continues to remodel its senior management.

Veteran Truswell will report directly to the firm’s director of mortgage distribution Richard Tugwell.

He joins from Newcastle Building Society, where he was head of intermediary mortgages for just under two years until July.

John has more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage intermediary market, with previous roles at Capital Home Loans, Together and Virgin Money, where he spent over 20 years, leaving as head of national accounts in 2016.

Vida Homeloans’ Tugwell says: “He [Truswell] is a familiar face to many in the intermediary market and has a wealth of mortgage experience.

Having worked with him previously I am confident he will help us further enhance our mortgage propositions and the service we provide to mortgage brokers in the intermediary market.”

Vida Homeloans’ Truswell adds: “I’m very much looking forward to getting started, ensuring brokers and their clients remain at the heart of all future developments.”

Last month, the firm hired Iain Gibbons as director of marketing who will report to chief executive Anth Mooney when he joins in the autumn from financial consultant Wesleyan, where he is group marketing director.

Gibbons replaces Nick Allen who had worked for Vida since it was founded in 2015.

Also, in July, Ian Giles, a previous director of marketing at the firm, and more recently a marketing consultant for the business, left the group that he also joined when it was founded six years ago.

The departure of Giles follows Louisa Sedgwick who left at the end of March to join Tandem Bank in October.

Sedgwick was replaced as head of mortgage distribution by Tugwell.
