Ex-Trinity Financial advisers launch new brokerage | Mortgage Strategy

Two former brokers from Trinity Financial have set up their own advice firm called Magni Finance, specialising in high net worth clients.

Dean Esnard and Ashley Thomas worked together as advisers for five years at Trinity before deciding to strike out on their own.

The new London-based brokerage is an appointed representative of Primis network and will offer telephone and face to face whole-of-market advice.

The pair believe that while the drive towards quick and free digital advice may be suitable for borrowers with straightforward needs, there is still demand for more in-depth and personalised services to help those with more complex circumstances.

They feel this is particularly true among high net worth borrowers who do not fit the criteria of mainstream banks and who often find themselves asset rich but time poor.

Esnard and Thomas foresee growing demand for large mortgages but also for bridging, commercial and development finance.

They have also established a panel of recommended firms such as tax advisers, planning consultants, solicitors and foreign exchange specialists to help their clients manage other areas of their finances.

Esnard says: “Ashley and I always had aspirations of having our own company one day.

“When the pandemic hit we decided this was a perfect opportunity which many people may have thought was crazy.

“But there’s no reward in life without risk so whilst the market was in meltdown, we had time to take step back and plan for the future and formed Magni Finance.”
