OSB Group has appointed Peter Greig as head of specialist originations to lead a new specialist property solutions team.

Greig is a chartered surveyor and registered valuer with more than 20 years of post-qualification experience.

He has expertise in this area and was previously group head of real estate where his knowledge of the UK property market covered many asset classes, including investment.

The new team will be dedicated to support brokers and their clients with larger and more intricate cases with loans over £5m involving portfolio expansion, property development, and complex ownership structures.

The team will include experienced underwriters and real estate professionals who are able to help brokers with long-term and short-term lending across both buy-to-let (BTL) and commercial properties.

This includes multi-unit freehold blocks (MUFBs), portfolios, purpose built student accommodation (PBSA), commercial property types and non-core property types.

The team will also assist to structure deals to support refurbishments and conversions.

Commenting on the launch of the new team and his appointment, Greig says: “We continue to see increased demand for diversification to clients’ portfolios which has lead to applications being up 100% on 2024 levels, showing both strength and growth in this sector.”
