Mortgage broker consolidator Pivotal Growth has bought two firms in England and Northern Ireland.

The group has bought More Choice Financial, a Bedford-based mortgage and protection broker founded in 2007 by directors Julie Myers and Gareth Tucker.

It says the acquisition will be integrated with existing subsidiary Grange Mortgage and Protection Services, based in Northampton.

But it adds that the new purchase “will continue operating from its current premises”.

More Choice Financial director Myers says: “We’re excited to collaborate with Grange and take advantage of the extensive resources now available to us.”

The group has also bought McPolin Financial Services, established over 20 years ago by John McPolin, in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.

This firm will become a bolt-on acquisition to another of the group’s subsidiaries, Select Mortgage & Financial Solutions, based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

Pivotal adds that McPolin Financial Services “will also remain in its current location, with its existing team in place”.

McPolin Financial Services managing director John McPolin says: “This partnership gives us the backing of a larger group while allowing us to continue serving our clients with the same personal approach.”

Both firms were purchased for undisclosed fees.

Pivotal Growth chief executive Simon Embley (pictured) says: “These are two well-established, reputable firms with strong leadership. By aligning them with Grange and Select, we’re enhancing collaboration, expanding our reach, and continuing to provide exceptional service to clients across the UK.”

Earlier this week, Pivotal Growth said Mayank Prakash would take over from Embley as chief executive of the group at the start of next month.

Prakash was recently chief operating officer at wealth manager Evelyn Partners and has held senior posts at Centrica, Morgan Stanley and Sage.

Emberly, who is a founding shareholder of the business, moves to become chairman.

Pivotal Growth is a joint venture established by listed business LSL Property Services and asset manager Pollen Street in 2021.

Over the last four years, the business has bought 21 broker firms, including John Charcol and The Buy to Let Broker, acquiring more than 500 advisers.
