Specialist lender Cambridge & Counties Bank has expanded its London and South East team as it seeks to take advantage of the region’s buoyant property market.

Nick Cox, whose 17-year career includes experience in banking and real estate, will join the company’s London and South East team as a relationship manager.

Cox, who spent 13 years with Nationwide Building Society and most recently worked for Handelsbanken in London for four years, has experience in origination, relationship management, restructuring and deal execution.

Cambridge & Counties said it had seen increased demand for its product suite last year, with London and the South East seeing “particular activity around commercial and mixed-use assets” alongside the more conventional residential and multiple occupation properties.

The bank said that it expected to “significantly expand” its regional teams this year to cater for the growing demand being witnessed in the property market.

“London remains a highly dynamic, significant market with demand across real estate sectors and I’m confident the bank is very well-positioned to meet this demand,” Cox said.
