Trussle has appointed a new team of nine staff to advise clients about protection.

The team is led by Prakash Patel and will cover income protection, critical illness and life insurance.

The online broker cites research which shows that just 58 per cent of mortgage holders have life insurance, while only 28 per cent have critical illness cover and as few as 12 per cent have income protection. 

Trussle clients will be offered a free protection review with a qualified adviser who will compare deals from a number of providers and recommend the right amount of cover.
