A new property sentiment tracker has found a decline in vendor enquiries for the week ending May 10 but a rise in buyer interest.

The tracker from Yomdel, which manages live chat services for estate agents, shows new vendor enquiries were down 2.2 per cent last week, while buyer enquiries rose 1.9 per cent.

New landlord enquiries fell quite significantly, down 17.3 per cent, but new tenant interest was up slightly, by 0.6 per cent.

Yomdel founder and chief executive Andy Soloman says: “Time will tell whether this plateauing is simply a pause, or perhaps reflecting frustration that agents are simply not able to help many people, or people are waiting for greater clarity from the government on how or when the lockdown will ease.”
