South Florida has many great biking trails for both experts and families, here are a few that you might enjoy.                              

Halpatiokee Park

Located at Halpatiokee Regional Park, this 10-mile, single-track trail is perfect for a beginning biker. The flat terrain is ideal for those looking for a mildly challenging ride through the Florida scrub.

Jonathan Dickinson

The bicycle trail at Jonathan Dickinson State Park provides a rare opportunity to glimpse endangered, threatened and unique animals, such as the bald eagle, Florida scrub-jay, alligators, Sandhill Cranes and more. Cycling Jonathan Dickinson State Park is an absolute must-do ride for everyone, and recommended for riders of all abilities.

Cypress Creek

Cypress Creek Natural Area is an impressive patch of land spans two counties – Martin County and Palm Beach County. Cyclists can experience seven native Florida ecosystems when traversing this trail including mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, hydric hammock, wet prairies, depression marsh, dome swamp and blackwater stream.

Jesup Trail

The Jesup Trail is accessible from the aforementioned Cypress Creek trailhead on Indiantown Road. Along the trail, cyclists will come across a wide variety of sights including an abandoned citrus grove full of oranges and grapefruits!

Martin County U.S. Route 1 Sidepath

The Martin County U.S. Route 1 Sidepath offers a straight, paved pathway spanning the southeastern coast of Florida. On its northern end, the trail stops at the doorstep to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. On the trail’s southern end, Tequesta County Park is just a short distance away. Although just over 2 miles, the pathway is part of a larger network called the East Coast Greenway that connects multi-use trails from Florida to Maine.
