Andrew Red Harris Artificial Reef Day Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County has declared annually every second Saturday in December to be Andrew “Red” Harris Artificial Reef Day! The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris, a Jupiter resident, who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet in 2014. The foundation’s mission will help assure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment where Andrew loved to dive and fish. This will be a day to celebrate Andrew’s life and the reef work done in his memory.

Anyone and everyone who is a friend and supporter of the Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation is invited to join the Jupiter Civic Center at Carlin Park for a 4:00 PM party. The county is sponsoring a John Tesch concert at the nearby Seabreeze Amphitheater at 7:00 PM.

The party is free to the Foundation’s friends and past supporters. It is encouraged that you can make a tax-deductible year-end contribution to support our local marine environment. The first $5,000 in donations to build new artificial reefs offshore of Jupiter will be matched by both Group Insurance Solutions, Inc., and the Florida Blue Foundation!

Your entry “ticket” will be the wearing of the Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation shirt. If you need a new shirt, please preorder/ prepay here. It will be a wonderful family event.
