Tandem Bank has appointed Roger Morris as director of sales and distribution for the digital lender’s mortgage division.
He will be responsible for leading the team and building the firm’s intermediary mortgage business. Morris, who takes up his post on Thursday (1 December), reports to the managing director of the mortgage division, Steve Beard.
Morris left OSB Group in August as group lending engagement director after two years at the business.
Prior to that, Morris had spent nine years at Precise Mortgages — which was bought by OSB Group in July 2019 — as sales director, after joining in March 2011.
He also spent two-and-a-half years at short-term finance firm Affirmative Finance, leaving as sales and marketing director, in March 2011.
Before that the industry veteran worked for over seven years as managing director at em-financial, a mortgage packager he co-founded, leaving in October 2008.
Tandem managing director, mortgage division, Steve Beard says: “Roger’s wealth of industry experience across all sectors of the market and his proven ability to deliver at the highest level are apparent for all to see.
“His engagement with the intermediary market at all levels and his commitment to educating and informing brokers about the technical and regulatory complexities surrounding channels such as buy to let, have made him well known across the industry.”
Tandem’s Morris adds: “Tandem Bank has serious plans to become a premier division player with multiple lending channels that cover every requirement that a broker might be asked for by his clients.
“The chance to plan and oversee the establishment of Tandem as a major force in the market was too good to pass up.”
