Professional Golfers Raise Money For Coronavirius Relief In Our Area

Yesterday, golf returned in Florida for the TaylorMade Driving Relief Charity match that was held at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach. Palm Beach County residents and professional golfers Matthew Wolff and Rickie Fowler competed against Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson in a team’s skins game with a $3 million dollar prize to be donated to coronavirus relief.

The match began at 2 pm yesterday and McIlroy and Johnson played for the American Nurses Foundation and Fowler and Wolff played for the CDC Foundation. The final results gave the American Nurses Foundation $1.85 million dollars from the McIlroy and Johnson team and $1.15 million dollars to the CDC Foundation from the Fowler and Wolff team.

The TaylorMade Driving Relief was just one of two charity golf events happening in our area this month. This upcoming Sunday, May 24th “The Match: Champions for Charity” will be played at The Medalist in Hobe Sound. The match will be professional golfers and Martin County residents Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson against professional NFL players Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. The charity golf match is set to bring $10 million dollars to benefit Covid-19 relief.

The match will be televised and begins at 3 pm this Sunday, May 24th
