Visit Lion Country Safari This Fall

Lion Country Safari located in western Palm Beach County is Florida’s only drive through and walk through safari as well as an amusement park in the entire state. The safari is located on more than 600 acres of land that over 1000 animals from all six continents throughout the safari’s seven different sections.

The safari was founded in 1967 and claims to be the first cage-less zoo in the United States. The safari has won numerous awards and recognitions including the 3rd Best Safari in 2009, One of the Top Ten Drive Through Safari’s, Best Outdoor Activity in Palm Beach County, Top Local Attraction of 2019, and the Certificate of Excellence in 2017 just to name a few.

Some of the notable species roaming the preserve include white rhinos, lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, and zebras. There is 4-miles of pathways throughout the safari to drive through and see the animals.

Currently, only the drive through section of the safari is open. The drive through safari is open during the week from 10 am to 5 pm which the last car being admitted at 4 pm. Weekends, the drive through safari is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm with the last car being admitted at 4:30 pm. Food and beverages are available outdoors and the outdoor gift shop is open daily weather permitting.
