The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their second annual Hike20 this March and registration is now open. The event gained popularity last year when it was held in January and is now back again for another year.

The hiking event includes a three-day, two night back country event that will be held Friday, March 5th through Sunday, March 7th. Participants will join trail experts form the Florida Trail Association Loxahatchee Chapter and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff biologist. Participants will be guided through some of the most iconic ecosystems of South Florida.

The hike is not an easy undertaking and campsites, weather, and trail conditions can make this hiking event even more challenging. Prior backpacking experience is recommended but all are welcomed to take on the challenge. The event will also feature a virtual Hike 20 that can be done anytime over the event weekend.

The second annual Hike20 will benefit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center marine educational outreach efforts. Those who participate in the weekend’s events will receive a participation t-shirt, a certificate of completion, and a finishers award.
