The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach offers a unique program that allows the public to adopt a sea turtle. The adoption program helps benefit the continuous care and treatment for the endangered, sick, and injured sea turtles housed at the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is located in the Town of Juno Beach and is a non-profit whose mission is aimed to protect the ocean and all that live in it. The center and its staff help to provide treatment and rehabilitation to sea turtles before being released back into the ocean.

The Adopt a Turtle program offers six packages to choose from: The Basic Adoption Package, Enhanced Adoption Package, Deluxe Adoption Package, Adopt a Nest Package, Name a Hatchling Package, and the Giant Sea Turtle Adoption Package. Prices range from $40 dollars to $250 dollars.

All packages include a personalized adoption certificate, a newsletter subscription, and a photo of the sea turtle. Other gifts and materials are included in some of the other packages.

Through the program, medication, hospital care, food and tank maintenance will be provided to the turtles to help improve the turtle’s nutrition and health. Once the turtle is adopted, the center posts weekly updates online of all their turtles present and you can even track their progress. You will also help by furthering the studies of green, leatherback and loggerhead sea turtles that nest along Juno Beach, Jupiter, and Tequesta from March to the end of October.

The Adoption process can either be done by visiting the Loggerhead Marinelife Center or online. The Marinelife Center is open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm and is located at 14200 US Highway 1 in Juno Beach.
