Last week, on October 30th, 2020, after months of hurricane cleanup and issues caused by the pandemic, Green Turtle Club reopened! Located on Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas, Green Turtle Club sits on a picturesque harbor surrounded by some of the most spectacular beaches in the world. Diving, Fishing, or hanging at Dollar Bar where you can listen to live local music “Gully Roosters Band” and sip on their famous “Tipsy Turtle Rum Punch” are now awaiting Green Turtle’s guests once again!
If you live in Jupiter or Palm Beach, Green Turtle is accessible by boat in only a few hours, making it possible to have breakfast in Florida and lunch at Green Turtle Club if so inclined. Some visitors to Green Turtle Cay arrive by commercial airline to Abaco, then take the ferry or a sea plane to Green Turtle. Direct flights to Abaco are available from a number of Florida cities, including Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Daytona Beach and Orlando. Depending on your departure city, the flight from Florida takes roughly an hour.
Not so fast though, as there are new requirements for Bahamas Customs this year, as well as a “clean and pristine” reopening plan which involves COVID-19 Tests, face masks, temperature checks, and social distancing.
Boaters will also be subject to screenings by the Ministry of Health, are no allowed to raft to each other, and fish cleaning stations are limited to one person at a time.
