Boca Raton. is home to a unique craft brewing company called Barrel of Monks Brewing.  Barrel of Monks is located at 1141 South Rogers Circle, Boca Raton. The proprietors brew Belgium beer right here in Palm Beach County. Several years ago, this group of friends started traveling to Belgium to see how their beloved beers were made. The friends started brewing for themselves and never looked back. Barrel of Monks Brewing is full of ambiance. The taproom features exposed brick, rich colors, great lighting, and comfortable seating arrangements.

The colleagues have honed their brewing skills to a point that they can develop high-quality ales reminiscent of the fine ales coming out of Belgium.

Belgian beers are known for complex flavor profiles. These flavors arise to a large degree from the use of Belgian yeast strains that produce esters and phenols which add floral, fruit, and spicy flavors and aromas to the beers. Belgians also use specific Noble hop strains that tend to be milder than American hops. The head brewer, Joel, of Barrel of Monks Brewing has been enjoying drinking craft beer for a couple of years. He decided he wanted to learn how to brew so he took a homebrew class at the old Funky Buddha Lounge, bought himself a homebrew kit, and as they say, “the rest is history.”

Barrel of Monks focuses exclusively on quality, Belgian-style beers. Featuring rotating taps of limited releases and blends such as:

-       The Wizard (5.5% ABV)

-        Abbey Terno Dubbel (7.5% ABV)

-        Endless Enigma Belgian pale ale (6% ABV)

-        Single in Havana (4.5% ABV)

-        Love Street, is a dry-hopped blonde that was developed with the team from Jupiter’s Love Street project and includes notes of passionfruit.
